Investment strategy

Porsche SE's investment strategy aims to create sustainable value for its shareholders based on the increase in value of the assets under management as well as dividend distributions. Porsche SE's investments are classified into two categories. The first category includes the long-term core investment in Volkswagen AG and Porsche AG. The second category includes portfolio investments that are generally held by Porsche SE on a temporary basis. Such investments are typically characterized by high growth and value appreciation potential during the holding period. In both categories, the focus is on promising companies in the areas of mobility and industrial technology whose growth is supported by macro trends.

Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft

With its stake of 53.3 percent of the ordinary shares and 31.9 percent of the subscribed capital of Volkswagen AG, Porsche Automobil Holding SE is the single largest shareholder of the Wolfsburg based company. Porsche SE sees itself as a long-term anchor investor of Volkswagen AG.

Volkswagen Group comprises ten brands from five European countries: Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, ŠKODA, SEAT, CUPRA, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche and Ducati. In addition, Volkswagen Group offers a wide range of financial services, including dealer and customer financing, leasing, banking and insurance activities as well as fleet management.

Porsche AG

Porsche Automobil Holding SE holds 25 percent plus one share of the ordinary shares in Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG (“Porsche AG”).

Porsche AG is one of the world’s most successful luxury automotive manufacturers. The “Porsche” brand is synonymous with design and engineering heritage, performance, modern and sustainable luxury, prestige, innovation, technological achievement and reliability. ABB E-mobility

ABB E-mobility is one of the world’s leading suppliers of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company entered the e-mobility market in 2010, and has sold more than 1 million electric vehicle chargers across more than 85 markets. With over 50,000 DC fast chargers sold, the company has the largest installed base of fast chargers in the market.  

With the fast growth seen in electromobility, the need for the expansion of the corresponding charging infrastructure is increasing. The demand for chargers will continue to grow rapidly in the years to come.

In addition to electric vehicles chargers, ABB E-mobility’s product portfolio also comprises services in the area of life cycle management as well as software solutions for the planning and operation of electric vehicle fleets.

AEVA

AEVA develops laser-based sensors, so called LiDAR ("light detection and ranging"). AEVA's innovative technology opens up new possibilities for environmental perception. Compared to conventional LiDAR sensors, AEVA's technology is able measure the velocity of an object in addition to its distance and position. This enables the generation of a precise map capturing and classifying all critical objects such as other vehicles or pedestrians. Since March 2021 AEVA is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Aurora Labs

Aurora Labs is a technology provider for remote management and diagnostics of software as well as for so-called "over-the-air" updates in the automotive and IoT-industry. Using its machine learning based technology, Aurora Labs' software can detect errors in software code (self-healing software) and transmit system updates to cars with zero downtime. Aurora Labs has already won auto manufacturers for the use of its software in series production.

Celestial AI

Celestial AI develops optical interconnect technology that allows for the disaggregation of compute and memory to make AI acceleration and high-performance computing faster and more efficient. Celestial AI’s Photonic FabricTM delivers high-bandwidth, low-power, and low-latency data movement allowing for memory capacity and compute scalability. The technology is a key enabler for new datacenter infrastructure which is architected to deliver significant advancements in AI workload efficiency.

Ethernovia

Ethernovia develops Ethernet technology for data transmission in vehicles. By using advanced semiconductor processes, the systems from Ethernovia are characterized by significantly higher transmission rates, improved energy efficiency and additional security features compared to currently available solutions. In addition, Ethernovia’s chips can be used in both existing and new vehicle architectures.

INRIX

INRIX is a global provider of real-time traffic data. For this purpose, INRIX draws on an extensive network of data sources comprising vehicles, smartphones and road sensors. These data sources are enriched with further information such as local weather data. Machine learning and intelligent algorithms enable continuous improvement of route recommendations. The cloud-based INRIX IQ software application suite provides customers with the ability to analyze the data from INRIX in a simple and targeted manner.

Isar Aerospace

Isar Aerospace develops and produces launch vehicles for the transport of small and medium-sized satellites into Earth orbit, thereby providing the basis for novel business models in commercial space. Isar Aerospace aims to serve the steadily growing demand for cost-effective and flexible launches. Compared to existing launch vehicles, cost advantages are achieved particularly through a high degree of vertical integration, innovative technologies and a high degree of automation in the rocket production process.

Markforged

Markforged develops and sells end-to-end 3D printing solutions for industrial uses. The company offers the only industrial 3D printing platform in the market that allows the production of high-strength parts from a variety of materials ranging from carbon fiber reinforced plastics to metal. Markforged's products are already used by several thousand companies in more than 70 countries worldwide. Since July 2021 Markforged is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The technology of proteanTecs, Haifa / Israel, enables the health and performance monitoring of semiconductors and electronic systems over the entire lifecycle from design to operation. proteanTecs’ technology helps to increase quality and reliability of new semiconductor generations and extend their lifespan.

PTV Logistics

The PTV Logistics brand combines the competencies of PTV Logistics and Conundra as a pure provider of logistics software. The product portfolio of PTV Logistics includes modern software solutions for route planning and optimization with powerful algorithms and data, as well as for additional use cases to save logistics costs and emissions.

Quantum Motion Technologies (QMT)

Quantum Motion Technologies is developing a quantum computer based on the so-called "silicon spin approach". Compared to competing technologies, this approach enables a significantly more compact system with which quantum computers can be implemented on a microchip in the future. Existing processes from the semiconductor industry can be used to manufacture such chips, which offers clear advantages in terms of scalability and costs.

Seurat Technologies is developing a novel technology in 3D printing. This technology enables a significant increase in the speed of 3D metal printing and thus promotes the use of 3D printed components in series production.

Umovity's product portfolio includes hardware and software solutions in the field of traffic management as well as state-of-the-art software solutions for traffic planning, simulation and optimization. Xanadu Quantum Technologies Inc.

Xanadu, Toronto / Canada, is one of the world's leading quantum computing hard- and software companies. Compared to established approaches in the development of quantum computers, Xanadu applies a photonics technology approach which offers considerable advantages in scaling compute power as well as its commercialization. The company is also developing a cross-platform software library specially designed for the programming of quantum computers.

 As quantum computers use the laws of quantum mechanics, they are able to perform certain calculations more efficiently and faster than traditional supercomputers. Quantum computers will significantly reduce computing time in the future, particularly when it comes to simulation and optimization.
